Week 10 of the COBA Major Baseball League Schedule was another light week for action with only three games on the docket. Teams spent the majority of ther week preparing for the annual Hap Walters Invitational Tournament which is hosted by the COBA Major Baseball League teams. 

 

The Etobicoke Rangers were one of the teams that found themselves in action this week as they hosted the Oakville A's. This games was played out of Greg Cranker Field in Mississauga as it was a make-up game from a previous rainout between the two clubs. It was also going to be a seven ining game since the light at GCF are not operational right now.

 

The Rangers got things rolling early in this one as they plated two runs in the bottom of the first inning for an early led. They would add three more runs in the third inning and then put things out of reach in the fourth with seven more runs as they took this game by a score of 12-0.

 

Zero K Bats Player of the Week Michael Ferracuti led the way for the Rangers at the dish going 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, an HBP, three runs, two RBIs and a stolen base. Ryan Panas stayed hot going 2-for-2 with a double, a pair of runs and three RBIs while Brad Crone was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and three RBIs. Daniel Murphy was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI while Steve Miller (Run), Tony Tedesco (2 RBI), Dan Franceschetti (Run and Alex Thrower (Run, 2 RBI) each collected a hit to roinsd out the Etobicoke offense. 

 

On the mound, the Rangers worked a few guys in to save arms for the Hap Walters this past weekend. James Graham started and took the win as he went two innings allowing no runs and no hits while walking one and striking out three. MIke Asta also threw a pair of scoreless innings allowing a hit while striking out three. Steve Ryan tossed the last inning only along one hit.
