3-Game Win Streak Over; Red Sox Lose to Rangers
7/25/2026by Olivia Poole

After three one-run games with COBA league leaders, Etobicoke Rangers - a fourth was not meant to be.

A bright, sunny + humid Saturday started well for the Red Sox as the home side struck first in the home half of the 1st inning. Catcher Jake Siracusa doubled to centrefield, and shortstop Christian D'Cruz chipped in a sacrifice fly, each scoring a run to give Milton an early 2-0 lead.

Etobicoke would tie the game in the top of the 2nd by way of a sacrifice fly and an RBI single after consecutive base knocks to open the inning. Liam Buckley would give the lead back to the Sox with a long sacrifice fly scoring D'Cruz, who had singled to start the 4th inning and made his way to 3rd base with one out.

The Rangers' 5th is where Etobicoke broke the game open for good, scoring 7 times to put themselves in command 9-3.

With Etobicoke leading 12-5, Ben Singh's late two-run double in the Milton 9th inning leant some credibility to the final score. Final: Etobicoke 12, Milton 7.

Dylan Clark started for the Red Sox, surrendering a season high 8 hits, 9 runs (6 ER) over his 4 1/3 innings in taking the loss. Kyle Clark and Rhys Tapper pitched in relief.

Offensively, Milton accumulated 10 hits, with Liam Butchereit leading with 3 hits in five trips. D'Cruz, and Singh each drove in two runs, while Matt Fusco chipped in with a pair of singles.

Defensively, the Red Sox turned one double play in the game.

The loss ends the 3-game win streak and also the season series with Etobicoke.

Next; Milton travels west to face another formidable foe when the Sox will take on Johnson Division leaders - Waterloo Tigers on Sunday evening. Game time 6:30 pm at Bechtel Park, Waterloo.
